The Exercise

I guess my 'thing' is the exercise side of weight loss. I like it and I feel good when I'm done. I love a good sweat! In fact I just got done doing an hour of step aerobics! I wanted to just say a few things about what works for me and maybe someone can take something from it. I like to cross-train. I think it's very affective and fun because you are never doing the same thing all the time. As you all know I like to run. I have a running group that helps me stay motivated and we move our location all the time so we run different trails. Another good way to cross train. As much as I would LOVE a gym membership I just can't afford it or do I have the time when Dave is home to go to one. So I have had to use other resources. Of course the outdoors works best, but I also do those lame at home exercise dvd's. I know they are dumb sometimes but they are good to do. There are tons of 'em out there. I have gotten my aerobics ones on ebay. I like step aerobics but there is regular, too if you don't want to do that. You also have to do some strength training to help strengthen and tone the muscles. I have a couple dvd's that focus on that. One of them is only 20 minutes, but very effective. And if you can just get through that 20 minutes, you're good. Anyone can workout for 20 minutes. But I am a firm firm believer in doing both exercise and nutrition for faster weight loss results.
If anyone is interested Dave and I bought p90X and we don't use it right now. It's a REALLY good program but it takes a big commitment. You need at least 1 hour a day for 90 days. It is very intense but so good. But if anyone wants to try it out let me know and I can ship it or something. You just need some free weights, a pull up bar and a yoga mat. (I hate yoga) We did this program for about 3 weeks. If you stick with it you'll look great in 90 days, but we just couldn't find the time. I wanted to work out WITH Dave but he didn't want to get out of bed earlier than he already does and it didn't really work to do it at night. So we were at a loss.
That is my two cents for the day. Hope everyone is excited to get started!
